Program Overview

The CMU Executive M.B.A program is suitable for executives or business owners with certain extent of business management experience. The program prepares students to step up to the top of the career ladder and enable them to invent new business lines in respect to the changes of business world. The variety of advanced managerial trainings in business administration related fields are selectively distributed throughout the program. The program extends the opportunity for students to select their own interested topic for Independent Study under the close supervision of long-experienced teaching staff. The student’s knowledge and capacity will be enhanced on the learning through real practice basis. They will also be encouraged to carefully involve the use of tools and business perspectives to create great impact for a business. The program, in addition, provides chances for business leaders to sharpen their advanced managerial skills and be a part of the strong and constant network of CMU Ex M.B.A alumni.

Philosophy

Bodies of knowledge on business administration have continually been developed in respect to the rapid changes of commerce and trades that urge businesses to extend their connection to a wide range of foreign countries. The main focus of these developed knowledge is to operate the business with ethics and morality with the belief that it can solve all the prior economic problems and crises as a result from a lack of ethical business executives. The revision of the Master of Business Administration program strives to produce graduates who are well equipped with scientific knowledge and skills of business administration and entrepreneurship that are able to deal with the rapid changes of economic situations. The graduates of this program will become qualified persons with ethics and morality along with academic knowledge and competence.  For the academic approach, the program intends to build up academic strength in the width and depth dimensions in order to cope with the swift changes of the environment. Another effect of the program is to promote student’s practical skills and scientific knowledge in response to the diverse demand of the students. Ethics for executives are, moreover, raised as the program highlight.

Program Objectives

To produce graduates who:

  1. Have creativity, spirit, and entrepreneurship skills for integrated business management.
  2. Are able to analyze problems and identify business problem-solving process systematically.
  3. Have ethics and professional and social responsibilities.
  4. Have satisfactory capacity of business management and are able to be the business resource for the region.
  5. Have the potential to be  local businessmen with sustainable marketing competitive advantage at the international level.

Potential Careers:

  • Administrator and planner in multinational, large, medium and small size companies.
  • Operating staff in state agencies and education sections.
  • Self-employed.

Curriculum:

The Master of Business Administration program for Executives is a 2-year program. The period of study is divided into 4 semesters and students shall not exceed 4 academic years.

Plan B (Independent Study):

For degree completion, a student must earn a minimum of 43 total credits throughout the program: 6 credits for Independent Study and at least 37 credits for coursework.  The coursework must consist of 6 core courses, 10 required courses of the specific track and 2 elective courses.
