CMUBS Hosts Gala Dinner for AACSB: Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference 2026 and Celebrates AACSB’s 110th Anniversary

On 17 June 2026, Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) had the honor of hosting the Gala Dinner for the AACSB: Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference 2026 at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. The event welcomed business school leaders, faculty members, and professional staff from AACSB member institutions across the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. The evening commenced with welcome remarks by Assistant Professor Dr. Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of Chiang Mai University Business School, and Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership, AACSB International. The occasion was particularly meaningful as participants also joined in celebrating the 110th Anniversary of AACSB International, recognizing more than a century of advancing excellence in business education worldwide. To showcase the unique identity and cultural heritage of Northern Thailand, CMUBS organized a “Kad Mua Experience,” offering guests an immersive introduction to Lanna culture through local cuisine, traditional crafts, cultural activities, and warm Thai hospitality. Chiang Mai University Business School and Electrical Engineering Academic Association (Thailand) hosted the Global Technology Business and Management Conference (GTBMC) 2023 in the topic “Technologies Changing the Future of Business” between November 22-24, 2022 at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. Assistant Professor Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of Chiang Mai University Business school, together with Associate Professor Dr. Narumon Kimpakorn, Conference Program Chair gave an opening and welcome speeches to 9 presenters in 4 countries included Thailand, Japan, Brunei, and United States and 161 attendees. The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Program, Faculty of Business Administration, Chiang Mai University, sincerely appreciates the support of Ornsirin Holding Public Company Limited in providing MBA students enrolled in Managing for Business Success (711703) with the opportunity to learn from a real-world business context. As part of the course, Ornsirin served as a corporate case study through which students conducted in-depth analyses and developed five-year strategic plans for the company, applying their knowledge of business management and strategic planning to an actual organizational setting. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the students presented their analyses and strategic recommendations to Ornsirin’s executive team. The session was honored by the presence of Mr. Predikorn Buranupakorn, Chief Executive Officer (CEO); Mr. Thanawat Adchariyawooth, Chief Operating Officer (COO); and Mr. Parawich Charoonroj Na Ayudthya, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who attended the presentations and provided valuable feedback, recommendations, and executive perspectives based on their extensive experience in managing the organization. MBA CMU Visits Ornsirin PLC for an Immersive Business Learning Experience

On 4 July 2026, faculty members, staff, and MBA students from the MBA Program, Faculty of Business Administration, Chiang Mai University, participated in a business site visit to Ornsirin Holding Public Company Limited as part of the Managing for Business Success course. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the operations, strategic direction, and business practices of one of Northern Thailand’s leading real estate developers. The program began with an executive presentation by Mr. Parawich Charoonrojnaayuthya, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who shared Ornsirin’s business overview, strategic direction toward 2029, five-year corporate strategy, project portfolio, and recent business performance. His presentation offered students a comprehensive understanding of how a publicly listed company formulates strategy, drives sustainable growth, and responds to market opportunities. On 17–18 June 2026, Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS), led by Assistant Professor Dr. Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of CMUBS, together with members of the School’s leadership team, participated in the AACSB Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference 2026 held in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The conference brought together business school leaders, faculty members, and professional staff from AACSB member institutions across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to exchange insights and best practices in business education. The conference focused on key issues shaping the future of business education, including strategic leadership, quality assurance, societal impact, accreditation, and institutional development. It provided a valuable platform for participants to discuss emerging trends, share experiences, and explore innovative approaches to advancing business education in a rapidly changing global environment.
