CMUBS Dean Appointed to Two Key Leadership Roles at AACSB

Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) proudly congratulates Assistant Professor Dr. Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of CMUBS, on his appointment to two important leadership roles within the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a leading global organization dedicated to advancing quality in business education. He has been appointed to serve on both the AACSB Board of Directors and the AACSB Asia-Pacific Advisory Council. Serving on the AACSB Board of Directors carries a significant responsibility in providing strategic direction and governance for the organization, helping to advance the development and quality of business education worldwide. In addition, Dr. Khongphu has been appointed to the AACSB Asia-Pacific Advisory Council, which brings together academic leaders from leading institutions across the region to provide strategic insights and guidance for the advancement of business education in the Asia-Pacific region. Chiang Mai University Business School and Electrical Engineering Academic Association (Thailand) hosted the Global Technology Business and Management Conference (GTBMC) 2023 in the topic “Technologies Changing the Future of Business” between November 22-24, 2022 at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. Assistant Professor Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of Chiang Mai University Business school, together with Associate Professor Dr. Narumon Kimpakorn, Conference Program Chair gave an opening and welcome speeches to 9 presenters in 4 countries included Thailand, Japan, Brunei, and United States and 161 attendees. In this year, GTBMC 2023 honored to had Professor Dr. Paul Patterson, Professor at School of Marketing (UNSW Business School, UNSW Sydney) and visiting professor at CMUBS to give his speech in the topic “Artificial Intelligence (AI) – A Case Study in a Professional Service Context” GTBMC 2023 announced 3 awards for 3 articles included: 1. CMU MBA Students Visit Hillkoff for a Real-World Supply Chain Experience

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, 54 MBA students together with faculty and staff from the Chiang Mai University Business School, visited Hillkoff Co., Ltd. as part of their coursework in 711706 Operations and Supply Chain Management. Morning Session | Hillkoff Highland Coffee Learning Center, Mae Taeng District Students explored Hillkoff’s end-to-end coffee production process, gaining hands-on insights into supply chain management, inventory control, logistics, and the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that support highland farming communities across northern Thailand. Afternoon Session | Hillkoff Branch, Mahidol Road Students observed retail operations up close, connecting classroom theory to real-world business practice at one of Hillkoff’s flagship city branches. This field visit gave students invaluable practical experience that bridges academic learning with industry realities — a core part of the CMU MBA philosophy of applied, experiential education. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Narumon Taksaudom, Managing Director, and the entire Hillkoff team for their warm hospitality and generous sharing of knowledge.

On March 6, 2026, Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) successfully achieved AACSB reaccreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), one of the world’s most prestigious accreditation bodies for business and accounting education.
