CMUBS Co-Hosts AACSB International Academic Events, Reinforcing Its Role on the Global Stage of Business Education

Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) has been entrusted by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the world’s leading organization in advancing and accrediting quality business education, to serve as a co-host (local partner) for a series of international academic events in the Asia Pacific region. This opportunity reflects CMUBS’s strong capabilities and readiness to advance business education in alignment with global standards. As part of this collaboration, CMUBS will host the Assurance of Learning Seminar I (AoL I) during 15–16 June 2026 at its campus in Chiang Mai. The seminar will serve as a key platform for academic institutions accredited by AACSB from around the world to exchange knowledge and best practices in assurance of learning and quality assurance in business education. Chiang Mai University Business School and Electrical Engineering Academic Association (Thailand) hosted the Global Technology Business and Management Conference (GTBMC) 2023 in the topic “Technologies Changing the Future of Business” between November 22-24, 2022 at Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. Assistant Professor Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of Chiang Mai University Business school, together with Associate Professor Dr. Narumon Kimpakorn, Conference Program Chair gave an opening and welcome speeches to 9 presenters in 4 countries included Thailand, Japan, Brunei, and United States and 161 attendees. In this year, GTBMC 2023 honored to had Professor Dr. Paul Patterson, Professor at School of Marketing (UNSW Business School, UNSW Sydney) and visiting professor at CMUBS to give his speech in the topic “Artificial Intelligence (AI) – A Case Study in a Professional Service Context” GTBMC 2023 announced 3 awards for 3 articles included: 1. Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) had the great honor of welcoming Professor Xinming He from Durham University Business School, one of the leading business schools in the United Kingdom, on 11th May 2026. This visit marked Professor He’s second visit to CMUBS, reflecting the strong and continuing relationship between the two institutions. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic relationships and explore future collaboration opportunities between CMUBS and Durham University Business School. During the visit, Professor Xinming He joined discussions with faculty members from the Department of Marketing to exchange ideas and discuss potential collaborations in several key areas, including teaching and learning development, research collaboration, academic exchange, and future international initiatives. CMUBS believes that this growing partnership with Durham University Business School will play an important role in enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and international academic engagement, contributing to the continued development of CMUBS toward greater international excellence.

Chiang Mai University Business School (CMUBS) proudly congratulates Assistant Professor Dr. Khongphu Nimanandh, Dean of CMUBS, on his appointment to two important leadership roles within the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a leading global organization dedicated to advancing quality in business education. He has been appointed to serve on both the AACSB Board of Directors and the AACSB Asia-Pacific Advisory Council. Serving on the AACSB Board of Directors carries a significant responsibility in providing strategic direction and governance for the organization, helping to advance the development and quality of business education worldwide.
